    Study Oil Painting at the Visual Arts Center (VAC) with Donna Pape. Helping artists create a painting from their photo. Helping with finding a focal point and how to create the illusion of depth with color and contrast.  
    Make sure to bring a reference photo.

    Supplies:

    • Canvas
    • Variety of brushes 
    •  Palette knife 
    •  Odorless mineral spirits and a small, lidded jar to wash brushes  
    • Paper towels or rags 
    • Your favorite oil paint colors

    Donna's usual palette is: Permelba White (large tube), Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Red, Permanent Rose, Veridian Green, Phthalo Blue, Ultra Marine Blue, Indigo, Raw Umber, Yellow Ochre

The Visual Arts Center serves Charlotte County, and beyond, with three major galleries, 6 classrooms, jewelry, glass, pottery & fiber studios, Gift Shop, Art Supply Store, and VAC logo items. Our 12,000 square foot facility provides the best art classes, instructors and exhibit opportunities for the community. Our courses are designed for all ages and skill levels, and we offer classes and workshops in a variety of arts media throughout the year.
