  • Introduction to Textile Surface Design 

    Study weaving with Cheryl Montale at the Visual Arts Center (VAC). This class will provide an overview of a variety of techniques that create pattern on fabric, including use of synthetic and indigo dyes, stitch resist / shibori, stenciling, and botanical printing. Each week a small project will be created utilizing these techniques. In addition, students will be introduced to the basic procedures and safety precautions of handling fabric dyes, both synthetic and natural. 

    Students should wear old clothes or bring an apron, bring rubber gloves, and a towel. 

    $40 Material Fee to Instructor.
