    Study Embroidery with Barbara Zappulla at the Visual Arts Center (VAC) Students will study basic & unusual stitches, color blending, develop artistic ideas & reinterpret those using the learned stitches. Each journal will be recording all learning, experiments, examples & ideas w/finished journal the students’ personal embroidery resource”. No Drawing skills necessary.

    Supplies
    • 10x12 mixed media spiral bound book
    • 4.5" x 9' oval embroidery hoop (plastic preferred) 
    • 8" round embroidery hoop - optional (plastic preferred) 
    • Embroidery Needles - several sizes from medium to large (length to be long) 
    • DMC 6 strand floss: minimum 6 different colors and 2 of each color 
    • 1 crochet hook size H or D (instructor will have some to use in class)
    • Color pencils, 2B pencil, small scissors, gum eraser, glue (Elmer's) and old magazines for cutting up, 3 small plastic storage bags (sandwich sized) 
    • Muslin about 1/3 yard - Joanne Fabrics 36"w SE Bleached (white)
