    Learn the basics of the pottery wheel with Steve Strunk in the Visual Arts Centers Pottery Studio. This class caters to the beginner with a desire to learn the art and technique of creating pottery on the pottery wheel. Learn about different clays, glazes, and techniques. During this class you will learn how to make a basic bowl, cup, and plate.

    Supplies: 

    • Pottery Tool Kit: You will need sponges and pottery tools which can be purchased at the VAC Art & Supply Store.
    • Clay, Glazes & Kiln Firing Time:  Classes include approximately $60 of clay, glazing (using VAC standard glazes) and firing. Clay, tools, and projects cannot be stored in the Pottery Studio. 
    • Only clay purchased at the VAC may be fired in the VAC Kilns. Additional Clay may be purchased for $30 per 25 lbs.

Our 12,000 square foot facility provides the best art classes, instructors and exhibit opportunities for the community. Our courses are designed for all ages and skill levels, and we offer classes and workshops in a variety of arts media throughout the year.
